Twentyseven joins the national DDA AI internship programme

Twentyseven is one of the agencies participating in the new DDA AI Stageprogramma, the national initiative launched by Dutch Digital Agencies to place 250 students per year inside Dutch digital agencies for twenty weeks of practical AI work. The first cohort starts in September 2026. Twentyseven is offering two places in Eindhoven, both open to MBO, HBO, and WO students in design or engineering directions. Each placement runs alongside the wider DDA cohort programme: peer sessions, monthly cohort meetings, and a closing Demo Day where the work goes public.

There is a real distance between what education currently teaches about AI and how the technology actually shows up in enterprise client work. Students learn prompt design, model evaluation, and the tooling. They get less exposure to the substrate the tooling depends on: structured content, composable architecture, integration patterns, the unfashionable work that decides whether an AI feature performs in production or stalls in a pilot.

That distance is what makes most enterprise AI pilots stall. Organisations are not failing at AI because their teams cannot use the models. They are failing because the platforms underneath the models were not designed for what AI now asks of them. The content is unstructured, the integrations are partial, and the governance is informal. AI exposes every weakness in the foundation at once, and no amount of prompt skill compensates for that.

At Twentyseven, that foundation is the field. Composable platforms, enterprise replatforming, content modelling, governance design, the architecture decisions that determine whether the next decade of content operations works or does not. A student spending a structured five months close to that work leaves with a clear picture of why most enterprise AI pilots are stuck, and what kind of practitioner is needed to unstick them.

The two roles

AI internship, development. Working alongside the senior engineering team on enterprise platform projects in Storyblok and Umbraco. The focus is bringing AI directly into delivery work: accelerating implementation, automating migration tasks, raising code and test quality. The intern leaves with practical fluency in how AI behaves at the production layer of enterprise platforms, at scale and under real client constraints.

AI internship, design and front-end. Working alongside the design and front-end practice on composable platform projects for enterprise clients. The focus is AI's place in design workflows, prototyping, and the boundary between content modelling and creative direction. The intern leaves with a clear view of what design looks like when AI is built into the working method from the start.

Both roles run twenty weeks from September 2026 and include the full DDA cohort programme around the agency placement.

For students deciding where to spend twenty weeks of their education, the DDA programme is one of the few internship structures in the country asking the right question about AI. Where in the stack AI actually lives is a question best answered in the work.
